Zelcs won five of six matches last week, earning a dual win against Penn State-DuBois and taking third place at Saturday’s PSAC Championships in the 184-pound division. Against Penn State-DuBois, Zelcs recorded six points during Gannon’s 39-6 victory against the Nittany Lions with a pin in 4:15. Zelcs then won four of five bouts at the PSAC Championships, losing only to top-seeded Steven Cressley of NCAA Division I Clarion (9-3). The redshirt freshman knocked off the second and fourth seeds during his run to a third-place finish. He defeated grapplers from East Stroudsburg (10-2) and Kutztown (7-3), before earning a 4-3 win against fourth-seeded Sam Shirey of NCAA Division I Bloomsburg. Zelcs then won the third-place match, defeating second-ranked Michael Pollard of Mercyhurst by an 8-2 score.
