Sazama led the Gannon volleyball team to a pair of crucial 3-0 wins in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action this weekend. The junior’s two double-doubles helped the Lady Knights sweep defending Atlantic region champion Clarion and hand Slippery Rock just its second loss of the season. In the two matches, Sazama averaged 5.33 kills per set, racking up 32 total kills during six sets. She also averaged 4.83 digs per set with 29 total. She had two block assists, two aces and an assist while hitting .293 for the week. In total, Sazama accounted for 30 percent of her team’s points (35 of 115). She started the week with an 18-kill performance against Clarion. Sazama hit .333 for the match with 19 digs and one block assist. She provided a spark during the third set, recording three kills and a block assist during a 5-2 Gannon run that put the Lady Knights just two points shy of sealing up the 3-0 win. Against Slippery Rock, she had match-highs in both kills (14) and digs (10). She hit .250 during the match while also recording two aces, an assist and a block assist. She was again dominant in the final set for Gannon, recording seven of her 14 kills during the last frame.
