Lipp hit .467 with a .600 slugging percentage and a .438 on-base percentage during a four-game split against defending PSAC Western Division champ Indiana (Pa.). The junior shortstop hit .625 (5-8) with runners in base and .600 (3-5) with runners in scoring position during the series. He recorded a hit in all four games, extending his hit streak to six games. Lipp was 3-for-4 and scored a run during a 3-2 loss during Saturday’s second game. During that game, Lipp helped tie the game at one in the top of the fifth inning as part of a double steal. He then scored the go-ahead run on a double. Lipp helped Gannon overcome an early 2-0 deficit in Sunday’s first game when he doubled and was one of three players to score in the bottom of the first inning. He later added an insurance run with a sacrifice fly during the 5-2 victory. Lipp concluded the series by scoring twice during Gannon’s 7-6 victory in the final game. He raised his average 46 points with last weekend’s performance and 69 points over the last six games. Lipp leads Gannon this season in runs (14) and doubles (5). He ranks second in hits (21), RBI (11), total bases (26) and stolen bases (4).
