Battle averaged a double-double during two games for the Gannon men's basketball team last week, a 69-68 last-season lost against Edinboro and an 88-68 victory at Lock Haven. The freshman forward averaged 19 points, 10 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals in those two contests. He started the week with 13 points and nine rebounds against Edinboro, missing a double-double by two rebounds or less for the sixth time this season. Battle helped Gannon snap a 28-28 halftime tie by scoring seven of Gannon’s first nine second-half points en route to a 13-3 run that gave the Golden Knights a 10-point lead. He later hit a go-ahead baseline jumper with 10 seconds left before Edinboro responded with the game-winner nine seconds later. Battle concluded the week with his second double-double of the season, posting 19 points and a season-high 11 rebounds at Lock Haven. He also had a season-high seven assists, two steals and one block. Battle netted 15 of his 19 points during the first half as the Golden Knights raced out to a 42-30 halftime lead. He has reached double digits in scoring 16 times this season, including nine of the last 10 contests.
