Milanak helped the No. 8 Gannon wrestling team finish second at the NCAA Division II East Regional last weekend at Pitt-Johnstown. The junior finished fourth in the 141-pound division, qualifying for the NCAA Division II National Championships for the first time in his career. He was one of six Golden Knights to advance to the national championships. Milanak entered the regionals as the fourth seed and promptly defeated American International's Christopher Hoffman 3-2. After a tight 4-3 loss to fifth-seed Adam Hluschak of East Stroudsburg, Milanak fought through the wrestlebacks. He posted consecutive victories over Christopher Francis (6-1) of Anderson, top-seed Adam Whetstone (5-3) of Pitt-Johnstown and six-seed John Paukovits (3-2) of Kutztown. The run came to an end in the third-place match when he fell 4-3 to eighth-seed Dallas Evans of Seton Hill. Milanak will head to the NCAA Division II National Championships with a 13-4 record. He is 46-16 overall and 22-7 in dual matches during his two seasons at Gannon.
