Mike Palermo '95 (Football) was a four-year starter for the Gannon football program from 1991-94. In addition to being a two-time All-Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) honoree as a junior and senior, the offensive lineman was selected to play in the 1994 Snow Bowl which was the NCAA Division II All-Star Game at that time. He signed as a free agent with the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL) following his collegiate playing days and later played with the Rhein Fire of the World Football League (WFL) before injuries ended both stints.
The Erie, Pa., native helped pave the way for two of the most prolific running backs in program history in Charbel Latouf and Jack Fulkman. The duo held the program's top-two career rushing totals upon graduation and both figures currently rank among the top eight. As a senior, he helped Latouf break the school's single-season record for rushing yards at that time. Palermo previously served on the Millcreek School Board, including time as president.
