Bill Carey '61 (Men's Basketball) starred for the Golden Knights from 1957 to 1961, scoring 735 career points and setting the Gannon record for points in a single game with 54 against Stewart AFB on Feb. 3, 1961. He also set the program record for field goals in a single game with 19 in the game. Carey was also named the Gannon Athlete of the Year as a senior in 1960-61 and still ranks in the top 10 in Gannon history in single-season scoring average (23.1 in 1960-61) and single-season free throws made (138 in 1960-61).
